Malcolm McLaren was an English impresario, visual artist and musician from London who came to prominence in the mid-1970s through his involvement in the British punk scene and later released solo work spanning new wave, pop and electronic genres. His practice combined fashion, performance and diverse musical influences, and his later projects incorporated dance, world music and stage production, reflecting an evolving engagement with popular culture and youth subcultures.
