Bernard Rands

Bernard Rands is a British-born composer of contemporary classical music who began his career in the mid-20th century and later established his professional life in the United States. His output spans solo, chamber, vocal and orchestral works characterised by modernist techniques, intricate attention to timbre and extended instrumental colour, and he has been active as a teacher within contemporary-music institutions.
