Franz Mazura

Franz Mazura (1924–2020) was an Austrian-born operatic bass-baritone who began his professional career in the mid-20th century and worked primarily in German and international opera houses. He specialised in character roles across the Wagnerian, Strauss and 20th-century repertory and frequently took on demanding contemporary parts that combined challenging vocal lines with dramatic characterisation.
