Anthony de Mare

Anthony de Mare is an American pianist and commissioning artist based in New York who began his career in the late 20th century specialising in contemporary classical and solo-piano repertoire. He has commissioned and performed cross-genre projects—most notably the Liaisons cycle that reimagines musical-theatre material for solo piano—advocating new compositions and expanding the solo-piano canon through varied contemporary techniques and reinterpretation.
