Chris Barber

Chris Barber was an English jazz trombonist and bandleader from Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, who formed his jazz band in the early 1950s and worked across traditional jazz, blues and skiffle. Initially rooted in trad jazz, his repertoire and programme expanded to include American blues and skiffle, helping to introduce those styles to UK audiences and contributing to the emergence of British rhythm and blues and popular music scenes.
