Sergei Babayan

Sergei Babayan is an Armenian-born classical pianist and pedagogue who began his career in the late Soviet era and later established himself in the United States. His repertoire and approach span Romantic and 20th-century works, with an emphasis on large-scale transcriptions, explorative textures and colour, and he has been active in conservatoire teaching and mentoring of younger pianists.
