Lisle Ellis

Lisle Ellis is a Canadian bassist and composer who began his career in the 1970s in Vancouver’s improvised music scene and later worked extensively within European free-improvisation and experimental jazz circles. His work spans electric and double bass, emphasising extended techniques, textural arco playing and collaborative ensemble improvisation, reflecting an evolution from local improvising groups to international experimental projects.
