Mike Cooper is an English guitarist and singer who began his career in the mid-1960s rooted in blues and folk before expanding into jazz, free improvisation and world-influenced music. Over subsequent decades his work employed slide and lap‑steel techniques and moved from traditional acoustic forms into experimental, ambient and improvisational approaches that engaged elements of global folk and jazz and placed him within the British underground and avant‑garde scenes.
