Jon Hassell

Jon Hassell was an American trumpeter and composer from Memphis, Tennessee, whose career from the 1960s onwards spanned jazz, minimalism and ambient experimental music. He developed the concept of 'Fourth World' music, combining electronic processing, non-Western musical elements and minimalist approaches to create a hybrid sound that influenced ambient and experimental music practice.
