Henri Marteau

Henri Marteau was a French violinist and composer born in 1874 who built his career as a classical soloist, chamber musician and pedagogue from the late 19th century into the early 20th century. His compositions and performances reflect a late-Romantic style combining French lyricism with Germanic structural influences, and he taught at European conservatoires while contributing works for violin and chamber ensemble that entered the repertory of his time.
