Warren Benson

Warren Benson was an American composer who began his career in the mid-20th century, working primarily in the contemporary classical sphere with a particular emphasis on wind ensemble and percussion music. His work emphasised lyrical lines, rhythmic clarity and colourful orchestration, and he produced a substantial body of pieces for wind bands and percussion ensembles that are part of concert and educational repertoire.
