Edwin Fischer

Edwin Fischer was a Swiss classical pianist and conductor, born in 1886, who began his career in the early 20th century and specialised in keyboard repertoire from the Baroque through the Romantic periods. Known for his performances and recordings of Bach, Mozart and Beethoven, he later expanded into conducting and teaching, emphasising clarity of texture and structural insight in his approach to performance practice.
