Gerhard Taschner was a German classical violinist born in what was then Czechoslovakia who began his concert career in the 1930s and worked across solo, chamber and orchestral contexts. His repertoire spanned the 19th and 20th centuries, and he combined solo, chamber and orchestral activities while participating in performances and premieres of contemporary works in mid‑20th‑century Germany.
