Lenny Pickett is an American saxophonist and woodwind player who began his professional career in the 1970s and has worked across funk, soul, jazz and rock genres. Known for his extended altissimo technique and high-register playing, he has contributed to big-band, funk and studio work and has served as musical director of the Saturday Night Live band, influencing horn-arrangement approaches in popular music.
