Friedrich Kiel

Friedrich Kiel was a German composer of the 19th century who emerged in the Romantic era and built his career around classical forms such as chamber music, lieder and sacred choral works. His music combines Romantic harmonic language with contrapuntal technique, with a catalogue that emphasises piano and chamber pieces alongside church music, and he spent much of his career teaching composition in Berlin, contributing to late-19th-century German musical life.
