Agata is a Japanese experimental guitarist and electronics artist who began his career in Tokyo in the early 1990s as a founding member of the noise rock band Melt-Banana. His work is characterised by heavily processed, unconventional guitar techniques, extensive use of effects and digital processing, and a blend of noise rock, punk and experimental electronic approaches, evolving from abrasive, high-speed compositions to more textural, sample- and electronics-driven explorations.
