The Cat Empire
The Cat Empire are an Australian band formed in Melbourne in 1999, emerging from the city's live music scene and fusing ska, jazz, funk and Latin influences. Their horn-driven sound and emphasis on improvisation blends reggae, big-band and pop elements, and over their career they have broadened their songwriting and arrangements while maintaining a focus on energetic live performance within the Australian and international festival circuit.
