Marc Johnson
Marc Johnson is an American jazz double bassist from Omaha, Nebraska, who began his professional career in the 1970s and is associated with acoustic jazz, post-bop and contemporary jazz. His musical style emphasises lyrical, melodic bass lines and interactive accompaniment, and his career has progressed from extensive sideman work to leadership and composition that explores chamber-jazz arrangements and atmospheric, modern acoustic textures.
