Master Musicians of Jajouka are a collective of traditional musicians from the village of Jajouka in the Rif Mountains of northern Morocco, whose repertoire stems from centuries-old Sufi and folk ritual practices and whose recordings and international collaborations began to attract attention from the mid-20th century onwards. Their music centres on hypnotic polymetric drumming and reed-led melodies designed for trance and ceremonial contexts, and over time the ensemble has performed both in local ritual settings and on global stages, contributing to cross-cultural engagement with North African and Sufi musical traditions.
