Edu Lobo is a Brazilian singer, guitarist and composer born in Rio de Janeiro who began his professional career in the early 1960s, working primarily in bossa nova and Música Popular Brasileira (MPB). His music blends bossa nova, samba and jazz-influenced harmonies, and over the following decades he expanded into broader MPB forms, wrote for film and television, and was associated with the cultural developments of Brazil's 1960s and 1970s popular-music scenes.
