Easley Blackwood was an American composer, pianist and educator born in Waco, Texas, who began his career in the mid-20th century working primarily in classical and contemporary music. He explored tonal and microtonal systems in his compositions and writings, moving between neoclassical forms, serial techniques and experimental tunings while teaching and performing, and contributed to discussions on temperament and keyboard tuning within 20th-century North American classical music.
