Heinrich Sutermeister

Heinrich Sutermeister was a Swiss composer born in 1910 who began his career in the 1930s and wrote principally operas, choral music and orchestral works. His style combined late-Romantic lyricism with elements of 20th-century modernism, often retaining tonal centres while experimenting with colour and texture, and his output formed part of mid-20th-century Swiss and European operatic and concert repertory.
