Justin Hayward is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist from Swindon, Wiltshire, who began his career in the early 1960s and became prominent for his role with the rock band The Moody Blues. His songwriting and melodic guitar work blended rock, folk and orchestral elements, evolving from 1960s psychedelic and progressive rock into more acoustic and orchestral solo projects, and his compositions have been associated with the development of symphonic rock in British popular music.
