Dave Burrell

Dave Burrell is an American jazz pianist from Middletown, Kentucky, who began his career in the 1960s and became associated with avant-garde and free jazz. His work blends composed structures with extended improvisation, moving between solo, small-group and orchestral settings and contributing to the development of the 1960s-70s New York free jazz scene and subsequent experimental jazz movements.
