Arto Lindsay

Arto Lindsay is an American guitarist, singer and composer born in Richmond, Virginia, who moved to Brazil in childhood and began his career in the late 1970s as a central figure in New York's no wave and experimental music scenes. His work blends abrasive, unconventional guitar techniques and noise-based experimentation with elements of Brazilian popular music such as bossa nova and samba, evolving from confrontational no wave projects into solo and collaborative work that bridges avant-garde, pop and world-music contexts.
