Wilfred Owen
Wilfred Owen was an English poet from Oswestry, Shropshire, who began writing and publishing poetry in the years leading up to and during the First World War and is associated with war poetry. His work moved from early romantic influences to a stark, realist portrayal of trench warfare, using techniques such as pararhyme, vivid sensory detail and formal experimentation to convey soldiers' experiences and influence public perceptions of the conflict.
