John Alldis was an English choral conductor and chorus-master who began his professional career in the mid-20th century and founded a professional chamber choir in the early 1960s, working primarily within classical and choral music. He specialised in both traditional choral repertoire and contemporary works, programming new compositions and incorporating modern techniques into concert and recorded performances while collaborating with orchestras and opera companies, contributing to the evolution of choral presentation in Britain.
