Frederick Converse

Frederick Converse was an American composer from Boston who began his career in the late 19th century, working in the classical tradition and composing orchestral, choral and vocal music. His style drew on late-Romantic harmonic language and American nationalist themes, and he developed larger-scale operatic and symphonic works that featured programme elements and contributed to the early 20th-century American concert scene.
