Aruán Ortiz Trio

Aruán Ortiz Trio are a jazz trio formed in New York in the early 2000s, originating from the work of a Cuban-born pianist and rooted in contemporary jazz and Afro-Cuban musical traditions. Their music blends Afro-Cuban rhythms, post-bop harmony and free improvisation, evolving to incorporate contemporary composition techniques and experimental textures that place the group within both the Latin jazz tradition and the downtown New York improvising scene.
