Johnny Frigo

Johnny Frigo was an American jazz double-bassist and violinist who began his professional career in the 1930s and worked across jazz and swing traditions. Initially known for his work on bass before increasingly focusing on violin, his playing blended swing-era phrasing with lyrical improvisation and he experienced a late-career resurgence that brought renewed attention to his recordings.
