Du Yun is a Chinese-born composer, multi-instrumentalist and performance artist from Shanghai who established her career in the United States from the early 2000s, working primarily within contemporary classical and experimental music. Her work blends theatrical composition, noise, electronics, rock and found-sound elements into interdisciplinary projects and operatic theatre, such as the opera Angel's Bone, often addressing themes of migration, labour and social justice.
