Gideon Klein

Gideon Klein was a Czech composer and pianist born in Přerov, Czechoslovakia in 1919 who emerged in Prague's interwar modernist classical scene and worked primarily in chamber and piano music. His compositions combine modernist harmonies, neoclassical forms and elements drawn from Czech folk traditions, and he continued to write while interned under Nazi occupation, making his work part of the repertoire produced in wartime conditions.
