Alice Harnoncourt

Alice Harnoncourt was an Austrian violinist who co-founded the period-instrument ensemble Concentus Musicus Wien and began her career in the mid-20th century, specialising in baroque and classical repertoire. She championed historically informed performance on baroque violin, contributing to the revival of early music through recordings and concert performances that emphasised original instruments and period techniques.
