Edison Machado
Edison Machado was a Brazilian drummer who began his career in the late 1950s and became associated with the bossa nova and samba-jazz movements. He developed syncopated, samba-derived patterns on the drum kit that adapted traditional Brazilian rhythms to small-group jazz contexts, influencing the rhythmic approach of later Brazilian jazz and bossa nova playing.
