The Lucerne Festival Orchestra is a Swiss classical orchestra formed in Lucerne in 2003 as a project ensemble for the Lucerne Festival, assembling international orchestral musicians for festival seasons. Specialising in core symphonic repertoire and contemporary commissions, it has developed its repertoire and institutional profile through recurring festival residencies, guest appearances and studio recordings, collaborating with a range of international conductors, soloists and composers.
