Ormandy

Eugene Ormandy was a Hungarian-American conductor and violinist from Budapest who began his career as a child performer and established himself in orchestral conducting in the early 20th century. Associated with a lush, polished orchestral sound, he spent several decades leading a major American orchestra and promoted Romantic and early 20th-century repertoire while helping to popularise symphonic music in the United States.
