Oscar Lorenzo Fernández

Oscar Lorenzo Fernández was a Brazilian composer and educator active in the first half of the 20th century, associated with classical music and the Brazilian nationalist movement. His music blended European classical forms with Afro-Brazilian rhythms and folk elements across piano, orchestral and stage works, and he contributed to the promotion of a national musical identity through composition and teaching.
