Sam & Dave

Sam & Dave were an American soul and R&B vocal duo who formed in the early 1960s and were associated with the southern soul and Memphis/Stax scene. They were noted for impassioned call-and-response vocal interplay, energetic live performances and close collaboration with southern soul songwriters and producers, a style that helped popularise the Stax/Atlantic-era soul sound and influenced subsequent R&B and funk musicians.
