Jackie Wilson

Jackie Wilson was an American soul and rhythm and blues singer from Detroit who began performing in the early 1950s in vocal groups before establishing a solo career. He combined a wide vocal range with energetic stage performances, blending R&B with pop sensibilities and playing a role in the transition from 1950s rhythm and blues into 1960s soul within the broader cultural landscape of American popular music.
