Bernard Garfield

Bernard Garfield is an American classical double bassist and educator who began his professional career in the mid-20th century and is closely associated with the Philadelphia Orchestra. His musical work combined orchestral and solo performance with teaching and pedagogical publications, and across his career he engaged with a repertoire spanning orchestral, chamber and educational contexts and contributed instructional materials for the double bass.
