The New Power Generation

The New Power Generation are an American band formed in 1990 as the backing band for Prince, originating in Minneapolis and primarily performing funk, R&B and pop. Their music blends funk, hip-hop, rock and R&B influences, and they featured on Prince's albums and tours throughout the 1990s while also releasing material under their own name that reflected the era's fusion of genres and production styles.
