John Stanley

John Stanley was an English composer and organist active in the 18th century who began his career as a church musician in London and worked chiefly within sacred and keyboard music traditions. His compositions combine late Baroque contrapuntal techniques with emerging galant and early Classical tendencies, producing organ voluntaries, anthems and chamber pieces that contributed to the English church and domestic musical repertoire.
