Mitsuko Shirai

Mitsuko Shirai is a Japanese mezzo-soprano who began her professional career in the late 1960s and established herself in Europe, specialising in classical recital and lieder repertoire. Her work has centred on German lieder and contemporary art song, and she later combined performance with teaching, contributing to the interpretation and transmission of 19th- and 20th-century vocal repertoire.
