Crass

Crass were an English anarcho-punk collective formed in Epping, Essex, in 1977, noted for their DIY production methods and communal approach to music-making. They combined abrasive, minimalist punk with experimental sound collages and spoken-word pieces while promoting anarchist and pacifist politics, direct action and independent distribution, which positioned them at the centre of the UK anarcho-punk movement and its associated cultural networks.
