David del Puerto is a Spanish composer from Madrid, born in 1964, who began composing in the late 20th century within the contemporary classical tradition. His work combines modernist techniques with influences from Spanish folk and popular music across orchestral, chamber and vocal forms, and his pieces have been performed in contemporary music programmes in Spain and internationally.
