The Isley Brothers
The Isley Brothers are an American musical group formed in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1954, whose long career encompasses gospel, doo-wop, rhythm and blues, soul and funk. Their musical style evolved from gospel-rooted vocal harmonies into a versatile blend of R&B, funk and rock-influenced soul, with increasing emphasis on electric instrumentation and extended grooves that connected mid-20th-century vocal tradition to later developments in funk, soul and hip-hop.
