Marianne Schech

Marianne Schech was a German operatic soprano, born in 1914 in Eger (then in Austria-Hungary, now Cheb in the Czech Republic), who established a mid-20th-century career within the German operatic system. She specialised in the dramatic repertoire of Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss, performing on major German stages and later combining performance with a teaching role at the Munich conservatoire.
