Émile Waldteufel
Émile Waldteufel was a French composer and pianist from Strasbourg, born in 1837, who began his career in the mid-19th century and specialised in salon dance music and orchestral waltzes. His output, including the waltz Les Patineurs, consists chiefly of dance pieces intended for salon and orchestral performance and became part of the light orchestral repertoire in France and internationally.
