Denman Maroney

Denman Maroney is an American avant-garde jazz pianist who emerged on the experimental and free-improvisation scene in the late 1970s and 1980s. He developed a technique often called "hyperpiano"—using unusual objects and modified touch inside the instrument to create sustained clusters, microtonal colours and extended textures—and his work moves between solo, ensemble and electroacoustic experimental contexts.
