The MIT Symphony Orchestra is the principal symphony orchestra of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, formed within the university and composed primarily of students, staff and community members performing in the orchestral and classical traditions. Its repertoire spans standard symphonic works, contemporary compositions and campus commissions, and it functions as both an educational ensemble for participants and a presenter of public concerts and collaborations with campus choirs and guest soloists.
